Q&A
Q. I saw on 20/20 where a man lived as a woman, without his/her husband knowing. In the report the man said he was able to push the penis inward, inverting it, making somewhat of a temporary vagina. Is this really possible, and if so, how is it done without hurting the genital area? posted Nov. 1, 1999

A. Well I didn't see that episode of 20/20. But there have been several instances where people have been married to someone who wasn't the gender they appeared to be and didn't know. How they perpetrated such a masquerade for a long time, I do not know. As to pushing the penis inward so that it simulates a vagina; well I won't say it's impossible, but it is doubtful. I can push my penis inside totally (it's not that big) but it would not stay that way without being held in by a control garment. I could never begin to pass it off as any sort of vagina.
