Q&A

Q. My question is in regards to finding a companion that is accepting of crossdressing. Do you have any recommendations on how to find this person? Is there any groups that would allow me to meet that female? Also, are there any indications or clues that I should be looking for that would possibly indicate that a women is at least open to these possibilities? Lastly, do you have any recommendations on bringing up and when to bring up these issues to a female you are dating? I should also include that I am a 27 year old heterosexual male that is looking for a female companion. posted Nov. 1, 1999

A. Yours is a long time question asked by many in our community. One with no good answer. Joining a support group may help, especially if you attend whatever social functions they may hold which are open to the public. Indications of someone who is open to the possibility? Basically any person is accepting, open-minded, non-judgmental and caring. A woman who has bisexual tendencies, or who at least is not disgusted by such thoughts, may be more receptive to the idea. When to bring it up may vary from person to person. Certainly if it seems things could get serious or that you may have a future together, then it needs to be brought into the open. Building a future with such a large aspect secret and hidden is a sure recipe for disaster.
