Q&A

Q. I'm a 30 M2F T who is pre-op and has been without a female partner since I transitioned 4 yrs ago. I have been interested in women and have tried relationships with men. I've found out that I would feel more comfortable with a female partner/relationship. The concern is - "Do lesbian women tend to be attracted to cute looking pre-op T's ? or do they tend not to want to get involved with a pre-op T?". I cannot be read very easily at all and most people think I'm somewhere between 19-23. If so, how should I go about finding these women? posted Feb. 5, 2000

A. I really can't say what percentage of lesbian women might be attracted to pre-op T*s. Does it happen? Yes, most definitely. I know at least one such couple personally. I also know of other committed couples where one partner is a lesbian GG and the other is post-op. My own suspicions are that while it isn't common, there is always the chance of finding such a soul mate. And I wish you complete success.

How to meet such a woman? Well considering I've not dated in well over 20 years, I'm more than a bit rusty in the dating arena. I might suggest you find Ms. Right at T* events, lesbian clubs, any of the women's cultural events that might take place wherever you live (book readings, recitals, discussion groups etc) Basically just go out there and live life. Get involved in whatever activities you love, try new experiences to broaden your flavor for life and just keep your eyes and your heart open for whatever possibilities might come your way.
