Q&A

Q. I just wanted a little info on the new product (Vaniqa) that I read in the San Diego Union Tribune. I wanted to know if you know any info that may help understand a little better. Does this product really work and how well? Is it safe and how often and long do you need to use it. When can we expect to see this new product? I know it will be by prescription only but when will it be in San Diego? Thanks for any info you can give me.  posted Feb. 5, 2000

A. All I know about Vaniqa, is what came out in the initial press release. There's no hard data as to effectivity, safety, etc. Also it's geared towards use by women and it may or may not be of any use to T*s. From what I understand it's something that has to be used on a continuing basis. Once use stops the hairs will grow back. Also there's no firm date for it's release to the public for use. There is always a chance it will never make it to market.
